2017
Tina Clarke is a teacher at Kelowna Secondary School, British Columbia, and has been teaching for 17 years. She teaches grade 12 Advanced Placement Human Geography, grade 11 Human Geography, and grade 12 Physical Geography. This summer, she will be attending the National Council for Geographic Education conference in Albuquerque, New Mexico, where she will present a paper she wrote on the cultural importance of geographic naming. While at the conference, she will also participate in workshops to enhance her own learning, enabling her to promote geographic education in her school.
2016
Tony Richardson and Toby Jones are Geography graduates, passionate educators and avid travelers. They will both attend the Google Teacher Institute at Google headquarters this simmer to develop skills on the many Geo Tools that Google has to offer. They will use these new skills to bring students closer to people and places that they may otherwise never have the opportunity to experience. Additionally, they will learn new ways to integrate Geography across curricula and differentiate student learning in meaningful ways.
2015
Alessandro La Gamba teaches grade 7 and 8 in Toronto, Ontario. With the support of the Phyllis Arnold Professional Development Award, he will be attending the annual conference of the Ontario Association of Geographic and Environmental Educators in Toronto this fall.
Tasha Roa-Yaremkowycz is a grade four teacher in Calgary, Alberta. As a result of the this award she will be attending the Earth Matters Professional Development Conference in Canmore, Alberta in October of this year. Her passion for environmental education and hands-on learning will be nurtured through a variety of sessions at the conference.

2013 - Lynn Moorman (Calgary, AB) and Rob Langston (Brandon, MB) attended the T3G ESRI User conference in Redlands, California.
2012 - Dayna Hart, middle school teacher from Westbank, British Columbia, attended the BC Teacher’s Institute on Parliamentary Democracy in Victoria B.C.
